I've spent many hours going surfing the blog world and came up on a couple of sites by women with sick kids. We have been so blessed! Our brood is big and healthy. (I probably should emphasis BIG). So forget the money...forget the stress....we really don't know stress like you have when a major illness takes over your life.
Today my mother would have been 62 years old. She died when she was 34...way to young. I have lived my entire adult life without the benefit of a mother's wisdom or a grandmother's love for my boys....The key word is I've lived....I survived all the hardships and heartaches....mainly because I remembered my mother's courage. And that is as deep as I will ever get with anyone on this subject!

Some days, ya gotta just crawl to keep moving forward...but the point is, you keep moving forward. Sounds like you understand this from first hand experience.
PS I have friends from Ardmore, and my mom lived in Augusta,Georgia for a while.

I don't think it's wasted hours at all...when you can read something and relate, laugh, make you feel grateful for what you have, or just to enjoy something pretty...I think it's all completely worth it. You have been very strong to go without a mom for that long and throughout so many times...as I get older I will out of the blue start thinking about how my mom is getting older too and it could be any day that I could lose her. I get teary just thinking about it now, so will stop while I'm ahead!
Your mom would be crazy proud of you & your family, as I know we all are. :)
